I knew the country was falling to pieces in front of the royal court, literally. I suspected mutiny on board ever since I went down to the countryside and got my left eye hacked off by a peasant. No one used to dare to rebel to the royal court’s decision before. It started only after the King’s reckless rendezvous’ and nighttime fancies that the people started getting mad. I do not blame them, but I do wish they had taken some time to think it over before putting things to action. I mean, the king has been rendered up in riches and attention all his life.
